Packing up my things to move from New York to Toronto (before France) wasn’t an easy task considering that Porter Airlines only allowed 50lbs between two bags, and charges $5/kg. Turns out that I had close to 100lbs between two bags. But instead of having to pay over $125 in extra charges, the folks at the check-in counter were nice enough to charge me the price of an extra bag ($25). To add to the niceties, Porter provides free wine/beer and sandwiches/snacks on its short flights (I can’t remember the last time Air Canada did that).
But for now, I’m living out of the living room. I still have my actual bedroom, but I’m leaving most of my things unpacked and in the suitcase. There’s not much of a point in moving them back to the drawers and hangers when I have to fly out in only a week after arriving. Of course, there is going to be some editing of my wardrobe so that i can fit in the 23kg per bag limits.
